Directed by Santosh Sen and Late Chhetan Gurung, ‘Prem Geet 3’ stars Pradip Khadka and Christina Gurung in lead roles. At the time of teaser release, Sen posted a memorial note to Late Chhetan Gurung as both of their dreams are now seeing light. He believes wherever he is, he is happy with their achievement.
The team released the Nepali and Hindi teaser of ‘Prem Geet 3’. The Nepali teaser has already made its way in YouTube trending and ‘Prem Geet 3’ is twitter trending in India. If this is not success then what is! It was welcomed with excitement and the audiences loved it. The comments are filled with positivity and hope for change and betterment for Nepali cine industry. The audiences love the teaser and are eagerly waiting to watch the cinema in big screen. The teaser depicts the love story of Prem and Geet and the obstacles that follow. Love or throne, Prem has to choose one!
Sane claimed that ‘Prem Geet-3’ has been screened in 1200 theaters around the world. The production side claims that it has been released in more than 500 theaters in India alone. The film is jointly directed by Santosh Sen and Cheten Gurung and has Pradeep Khadka and Christina Gurung in lead roles. Actors like Prem Puri, Manish Raut, Sunil Thapa, Shiv Shrestha, Lakshmi Bardeva, Jeevan Bhattarai, Anubhav Regmi and others are also acting in it.
‘PREM GEET 3’ (DUBBED) REVIEW
Prem Geet 3 (dubbed from the Nepali film of the same name; UA) is an action love story. It is the third film in the Prem Geet series. However, the first two films in the series were not dubbed in Hindi. The film is based in the era when there were kings and their kingdoms in Nepal.
Prem (Pradeep Khadka) belongs to a community in Nepal, which is considered enemy by another community in the region. Geet (Kristina Gurung) belongs to the other community. Prem and Geet are childhood friends, now separated. Sparks fly between Prem and Geet when they meet after many years. In fact, Prem returns to Geet the bangles which belonged to her family and, therefore, held sentimental value for her. He wins Geet’s love. But calamity strikes when Prem’s family gets to know that he has fallen in love with the enemy’s daughter. What happens thereafter?
Chetan Gurung and Mandip Gautam have written an absolutely routine and predictable story and screenplay. Since everything moves on the treaden path, there is no shocking or surprising moment whatsoever in the insipid drama. The enmity is hardly established — just as the romance is hardly developed. Therefore, the entire drama looks half-baked. As a result, the audience is not affected by the love story of the lovers. Neither do their hearts rejoice when Prem and Geet meet nor do they bleed when they are separated. In effect, the viewers passively watch the drama unfold, without becoming a part of it. If the romance is not at all heartwarming, the emotions fail to touch the heart. Comedy is conspicuous by its absence. The duo’s dialogues are just about average.
Pradeep Khadka looks nice and acts with a fair amount of conviction. Kristina Gurung makes quite a confident debut. She looks pretty. Shiva Shreshtha, Sunil Thapa, Santosh Sen, Maotse Gurung, Manish Raut, Pushkar Karki, Prem Puri, Anubhav Regmi, Yogisha Khatri, Sambridhi Shahi Thakuri, Krijan Gautam, Jivan Baral, Jiban Bhattarai, Laxmi Bardewa, Sujal Basnet and Raj Thapa Chhetri lend routine support. Others just about fit the bill.
Chetan Gurung and Santosh Sen’s direction is ordinary. The duo has been unable to engage the audience in the narration. Music is the biggest plus point of the film. Music directors Aslam Keyi, Kalyan Singh, Alish Karki and Pavandeep Rajan have given very appealing tunes. A couple of songs are excellent too. Lyrics (A.M. Turaz, Kumaar, Hari Shankar Sufi, Rajesh Kumar Shreshtha and Hark Saud) are nice. Kabiraj Gahatraj’s choreography is fair. Amar Mohile’s background music is alright. Camerawork (Rajesh Shreshtha and Purushottam Pradhan) is eye-filling, like the beautiful locations. Himal K.C.’s action and stunt scenes are quite thrilling. Binod Kadayat’s art direction is of a fair standard. Editing (Sanjay Sankla; Nepal editor Banish Shah) is so-so. Dubbing is very good.
On the whole, Prem Geet 3 is too Excellent movie.
